GymPlayer Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 March 2026
GymPlayer is designed as a local-first app. Most library data stays on your device,
but some information is handled when you use features like metadata rescue,
Tether, Apple in-app purchases, and support contact.
Section 1
Who We Are
GymPlayer is provided by Kobi Morris ("we", "us", "our").
Privacy contact: GymPlayerSupport@gmail.com
This policy explains how GymPlayer handles information when you use the app and related support channels.
Section 2
What Information GymPlayer Handles
In the current version, GymPlayer does not appear to operate its own user account system, remote content-hosting platform, third-party ad SDK, or cross-app tracking SDK. Most app data remains local unless you choose to use specific features.
- Imported audio and library content. When you import songs, GymPlayer copies selected audio files into the app's local storage and keeps related library data such as playlists, favourites, queue information, artwork, metadata edits, settings, and auto-import folder bookmark data.
- Photos and artwork. If you choose artwork from the photo library, the selected image is read and stored as local library artwork.
- Camera recordings and exports. Pose videos and exports are created locally on your device. If you share an export, that happens only when you choose a destination through Apple's share sheet.
- Tether session data. If you use Tether, GymPlayer may exchange your device name, session code, playback state, timing information, track descriptors, matching fingerprints, and temporary audio assets with nearby connected devices.
- Metadata rescue and artwork lookup. Search terms derived from the selected track or file, such as title, artist, or filename-based queries, may be sent to Apple iTunes Search, Deezer, and MusicBrainz. Matching artwork may also be downloaded from third-party URLs.
- Subscriptions. GymPlayer Pro purchases, restores, billing, and product availability are handled by Apple. The app stores local entitlement state on the device so subscription features can unlock.
- Support communications. If you contact support, we may handle what you send us, including your email address, screenshots, device details, and the content of your message.
Section 3
How We Use Information
- to import, organise, play, and manage your audio library,
- to store playlists, favourites, metadata edits, artwork, and settings,
- to support auto-import folders that you explicitly configure,
- to run Tether discovery, synchronisation, and temporary peer-to-peer transfers,
- to perform metadata rescue and artwork matching at your request,
- to enable camera recording, editing, export, and sharing features,
- to confirm and restore GymPlayer Pro entitlements through Apple, and
- to respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, and comply with legal obligations.
Section 4
When Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information.
- Apple. When you use the App Store, in-app purchases, or restore purchases, Apple handles information under its own terms and privacy practices.
- Metadata providers. Metadata rescue and artwork lookup requests are sent to the provider you choose to use, currently Apple iTunes Search, Deezer, and MusicBrainz.
- Nearby devices. If you use Tether, session information and temporary shared assets are sent directly to participating nearby devices.
- Share destinations. If you export or share using the iOS share sheet, the selected app, service, or recipient receives the content you choose to send.
- Legal or operational reasons. Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary for support, compliance, legal protection, or to respond to legal requirements.
If you use Apple services, metadata rescue, support tools, or other third-party services, limited information may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where those providers operate.
Section 5
Retention, Deletion, and Security
GymPlayer stores most app data locally on your device. In general:
- imported songs and library data remain until you delete them or remove the app,
- artwork and metadata edits remain until you replace or delete them,
- auto-import bookmarks remain until you reset or remove them,
- Tether cache files are intended to be removed when the session ends or connected peers disconnect, and
- support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and keep records.
GymPlayer relies on iOS sandboxing, Apple's permission controls, security-scoped file access where applicable, and required encryption for Tether sessions. No system is perfectly secure, so you remain responsible for protecting access to your device and the destinations you choose when sharing content.
Section 6
Your Choices and Rights
- You can choose whether to grant camera, photo library, and local network permissions.
- You can delete imported media, playlists, artwork, and other local content yourself.
- You can remove configured auto-import folders and stop using Tether, metadata rescue, or export features at any time.
- You can manage or cancel GymPlayer Pro through your Apple account settings.
Because GymPlayer does not currently use an in-app account system in the reviewed version, there is no general account deletion flow. Most app data is stored on your device and can be removed locally.
